I created "The Listeur" to combine two of my favorite things - making lists and cinema. The website The Auteurs (now MUBI) - a social networking site and online cinema for cinephiles - added the ability to make lists in spring 2010, and I've been going a little list-mad ever since. I've been making lists of movies by every director I can think of, then ranking each film according to my personal preferences. I've made it a rule that I can only make the list if a) I've seen three of the directors movies and b) at least three of the films I've seen are in The Auteurs' database. (The Auteurs is a relatively new site so the database is not yet complete.) On here, I will elaborate on each filmmaker, or auteur, and talk about his or her individual films.
P.S.: Yes, I know that "listeur" is not a word. However, I would define myself as one - I've become a sort of auteur of making lists. I think the term also applies in that all my lists are based on individual auteurs (a term commonly used for filmmakers or directors based on auteur theory).
